EventCamp 2019: Marketing Session 1 Leads, Leads, Leads

There’s good news and bad news about the hospitality and events industry, according to Janet Kurtz, President & CEO of Kurtz Hospitality Marketing.

The good news is that there’s a lot of growth.

“Right now we’re seeing unprecedented growth in the city of Nashville and even in the United States. Restaurants, hotels, and venues are all opening at a record pace. That said, business is coming into a variety of markets at an even faster pace. Hotels, venues, and restaurants are mostly reporting record sales,” she said.

The bad news? Getting the right, qualified leads that will be more likely to book with your venue. Everyone is getting leads, thanks to our modern digital marketing tools, but not all of them are the right fit.

“Inbound leads can be great to further relationships with great customers, but how do we really get there?” Kurtz said. “How do we make these platforms work for us?”

During our EventCamp 2019 conference, Kurtz presented a number of tips for event professionals on how to optimize your website, be more strategic about your organic and paid social media content, make good connections on LinkedIn, partner with social media influencers, and tap into old-school sales method to get the right leads for your events business. You can view her presentation below and get her tips from the video of her session, Marketing Session 1: Leads, Leads, Leads.
