To Our Customers, Partners, and Friends,
I am pleased to share with you that Tripleseat has been acquired by Vista Equity Partners (“Vista”), a leading investment firm focused on enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled businesses. Through the acquisition, Gather, already owned by Vista, will be merged with Tripleseat.
The new combined company will operate under the Tripleseat brand and I will continue to be the CEO. The headquarters for the combined company will still be in Concord, Mass., with a significant office presence in Gather’s former headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
By merging the two companies, we will now have the opportunity to create even greater value for the thousands of event and sales operators that use Tripleseat and Gather applications every day. I am excited to join forces with the Gather team, who shares our belief in the immense opportunity to transform the way events are booked and managed.
While the merger is a significant milestone in our history, Tripleseat customers will continue to experience the same industry-leading products, customer support, and implementation services they have come to know and expect from us. Join us for our EventCamp conference in New York City on Tuesday, April 28 — where the Tripleseat team will be available to chat about this awesome news.
About the Partnership
Vista Equity Partners acquired Tripleseat in March 2020. It was also announced at this time that Vista, who exclusively partners with enterprise software, data and technology companies, would merge event management firm Gather, which was acquired by Vista Equity Endeavor Fund I in 2017, with Tripleseat. Tripleseat and Gather both offer event management services on their respective platforms, and the combination of the two under the Tripleseat brand offers customers an all-encompassing event management experience that satisfies customers who had used both platforms in the past. Level Equity, which has been an investment partner in Tripleseat since 2017, has remained a shareholder in the newly-combined business.
Alan Cline, Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of the Vista Endeavor Fund, was equally enthusiastic about the acquisition and merger, saying, “Today’s restaurants, hotels and event venues depend on strong group booking platforms to drive value and build long-standing customer relationships. Merging Gather with Tripleseat will create enormous value for clientele throughout the hospitality industry who depend on mission-critical enterprise software. We’re excited to support the combined company as it continues on the path of growth and innovation.”
Since the acquisition and merger, Tripleseat has continued to grow and expand the business, including the relaunch of EventUp, a venue discovery and booking platform. Previously operated by Gather, EventUp was acquired by Tripleseat in 2018. With over 7,000 sites on its platform, EventUp draws over one million visitors to its website.
