Is “Vaporware” Back?

In the 80’s and 90’s vaporware was all the rage for software companies. What is vaporware? Wikipedia describes it as:

“In the computer industry, vaporware or vapourware is a product, typically computer hardware or software, that is announced to the general public but is never actually manufactured “

A more common explanation is a salesperson making promises of what the software “will do….eventually” or what they will deliver in leads or new sales. When buying software, especially software that is supposed to have a financial impact on your business it is important to take a demo and actually witness for yourself what the software can do and to get the real facts on the promises.

If the software company is telling you that “it’s in development” or “we will work with you to make that happen” or “It’s part of our next release” you are being sold vaporware. Your event business is too critical to your overall revenue to fall victim of a vaporware pitch of a desperate company.

If you have fallen victim to vaporware, schedule a demo with us and we will help you get the product you deserve and need.
