Cocktail of the Week: The Mezcal Old Fashioned

I was craving something bold and spirit-forward when I sat down to write this week’s cocktail post. Something smokey, tangy, and a bit sweet. Enter the Mezcal Old Fashioned. This spin on the classic whiskey cocktail uses mezcal and tequila to spice things up. This cocktail is strong yet balanced and makes the perfect winter warmer.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces tequila
  • 1 1/2 ounces mezcal
  • 1 tbsp agave nectar
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Flamed orange peel for garnish

Simply add all of your ingredients to an old fashioned glass with one large ice cube, stir until chilled. Torch your orange peel and throw it on top as garnish. Enjoy!
