About Tripleseat
The idea for Tripleseat came from the Founder Jonathan (Jono) Morse who after working in the restaurant business as a manager and then a sales executive for restaurant software companies witnessed first hand the frustration of restaurant private party planners and caterers.
When operators in restaurants where asked why they were frustrated it came down to that managing the private dining business with paper and three ring binders was slow, time consuming and disorganized. Unfortunately, the software available to them was very expensive,not designed for restaurants and required days of training and even more days for installation.
After many conversations with restaurant event planners and managers the design and function of Tripleseat was created. Without knowing how to develop a web application Jonathan partnered with Dusty Davidson and Kevin Zink of Brightmix in Omaha NE. How Jonathan, from Boston, found two Ruby on Rails developers in Omaha is another great story for a different time.
Kevin and Dusty skills in development and understanding of how important ease of use and flow is to any application is evident throughout Tripleseat. In a word, Tripleseat is "easy".
The goal of Tripleseat is to take something that was frustrating and turn it into something that is easy and provides deep value.
The Team
As Tripeseat's Managing Partner and Founder Jonathan's philosophy towards technology is that it should be fun to use and provide a deep value to the end user. This philosophy was developed by his experiences working in the hospitality industry, as well as his experience in corporate sales and operations.
Prior to establishing Tripleseat, Jonathan served as Vice President of Sales for a business intelligence software company that focused on the restaurant industry.
Jonathan witnessed first-hand that managers and chefs did not have the necessary tools to run their private dining and catering operations efficiently. Not only were their bottom lines suffering, the front-of-house and back-of-house teams were spending more time in the office shuffling thru papers than in the dining room developing sales and providing service to existing customers.
Jonathan recognized that the restaurant industry needed a revolutionary tool –a easy-to-use web based software solution that could empower food & beverage operators to save valuable time, drive sales, and provide outstanding hospitality to their guests. To address this problem, Jonathan founded Tripleseat in 2008. He has since grown his company and has three offices nationwide, supporting users across the United States.
Key to Jonathan's success has been his sales and operational experience, since before becoming a software sales executive turned entrepreneur, he'd worked with the Hospitality Industry's leading companies like Marriott Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Bertucci's, and Back Bay Restaurant Group As a Catering Sales Manager, Front Office Manager and Corporate Sales Executive Jonathan has experienced what it takes to run a successful sales and banquet business.
Dusty Davidson and Kevin Zink are the Founders of BrightMix, a web-based software development company. They aim to create elegant and easy-to-use applications by focusing their development efforts on the end users of their software.
